Music Lessons

Violin, Flute, Clarinet, Recorder & Theory Lessons at Newborough C of E Primary School

Lessons are available within the school day to learn violin, flute, clarinet, recorder or music theory.

  • Lessons are taught individually or in groups of two or three pupils (grouped according to age)
  • Lessons cost from £5.50 per week
  • Children learn to read music as part of the lesson
  • Free instrument loan (violin and flute and clarinet) is available from the Peterborough Music Hub

Practice at home is important to help the children learn quicker and to enjoy and share their new skills with their family.

Lessons will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and if necessary, other pupils will be put on the waiting list. Group lessons need at least two children wanting to learn the same instrument to operate.

Youngest recommended starting age:

Violin & Recorder - Year 1 (provided the child has at least an average ability in reading)

Flute & Clarinet - Year 3 (smaller children will find the instruments too heavy)
