History Off The Page

The day started with us all in the hall imagining that we were Ancient Egyptians.  We became apprentices and tried our hand at different activities representing jobs that would have existed in Ancient Egypt such as bakers, amulet makers, scribes, carvers and embalmers.  We also got the chance to play an Ancient Egyptian board game.  Before lunch we were treated to a story outside about the God Ra.

The hall became the hall of the Pharaoh in the afternoon and we were either slaves or entertainers.  We had a celebration for the Pharaoh and his wife and had a taste of some Ancient Egyptian food.

A good time was had by all and they learnt a great deal.
