Our Classes
It is our intention to have class sizes of no more than 30 at Key Stage 1 and 32 at Key Stage 2, but this depends on the financial resources available to the school.
Some classes are of mixed ability and in a school of this size can consist of various age groups. In mixed-age classes, pupils are allocated according to the teachers’ professional knowledge of the child.
Pupils are taught in a variety of ways, as a whole class, in groups and sometimes individually. Within the KS1 classes children are grouped for Numeracy and Literacy according to their ability. Within the KS2 classes children are set across the pairs of classes according to ability for Literacy and Numeracy.
