Parents' Curriculum Map - Summer Term 2010

Dear Parents,

Welcome to our Curriculum Map for the Summer Term! This is to inform you of what your child will be learning this term.

Special Events this Term

On Friday 14th May we will be going on a visit to Wandlebury Country Park. This trip will return at 4.15pm. Please note that a packed lunch, waterproofs, wellingtons boots and sunscreen/hats will be needed. Thank you to those parents/carers who have offered to accompany us on the visit. I would like to accept all offers! The deadline for the payment of £14.50 per child is Friday 7th May 2010.

During the weeks of 28th June to 9th July we will be doing sewing in the afternoons of Monday and Wednesday. Sewing is tricky for little fingers, so if you would like to come and help, I would be most grateful! Please remember that all helpers must have CRB clearance. Please speak to Mrs Crossley if you have any questions. Please let me know if you are available to sew with us.

Your child may talk about a new teacher called Mrs Wilson. Mrs Wilson will be teaching alongside me for seven weeks this term. She is from Homerton College, Cambridge and will be completing her PGCE training with us.

Year 2 will be going swimming at Eye Primary School after half term. More information about swimming will be sent to you nearer the time.

End of Key Stage One Assessments

This term I will be making final judgements for the End of Key Stage One Assessments. Your child will be completing tests and tasks during June. These are relaxed assessments which simply inform my judgements. Please avoid taking your child out of school during the week of 7th-11th June. The results of these assessments will be included with your child’s report at the end of the year.
