School Awards
At Newborough, we have several 'cups' which are awarded to children for their efforts.
The House Cup
Everyone at Newborough (except Mrs Davis) belongs to a House - Dawson, Thrower, Hadman or Fitness. The Houses are named after former headteachers of the school.
Each week, all House Points earned are added together by the House Captains. The House which is awarded the most House Points overall have a ribbon in their House colours tied around the House Cup, which is then displayed by the office.
The Perseverance Cup
Each class has a Perseverence Cup. These cups were given to the school by Mrs Lewis (nee Huthwaite) upon her retirement last year (summer 09). Every half term, each class teacher awards their Perseverence Cup to the child who has shown perseverence in any aspect of their learning.
The Writing Cup
The Writing Cup was given to the school by Mrs Whiting when she left Newborough to take up a post as Deputy Headteacher last year (summer 09). The Writing Cup is awarded termly to the child who has impressed all of the teaching staff and Mrs Davis with their writing.
