Expressive Arts Week

Everyone will get the chance to try two creative activites this week.  The activities include Australian art, kite making, pizza making, rag rugging, junk modelling, cheerleading, sketching, sewing and painting.

On Monday we were lucky enough to have a visit from Millie, an African drummer who held individual workshops for each class.  Every teacher commented on how much the children enjoyed this special visit.

On Thursday afternoon we will enjoy a music concert.  Pupils who have lessons with Mrs Weston will entertain us.  This regular event is always enjoyable.

As well as the activities, each class is finding out about a different country:- food, culture, language etc.  The countries are varied - Africa (R), Tanzania (O), Puerto Rico (Y), Thailand (G), Japan (B), Italy (I) and Australia (V).

The week will finish with a Stars In Our Eyes talent show.  Over 60 children auditioned and the judges were very impressed by the level of talent at Newborough.  The ten finalists had a dress rehearsal on Tuesday and the whole school will be there to cheer them all on in the final on Friday afternoon.
