Governing Body

The role of the governing body is to support the school with continued improvement. The governors have key roles and responsibilities that they undertake; for example, the schools finances, where key decisions have to be made on how the school budget is managed. Governors act as a critical friend to the school, challenging where necessary to ensure that required assurance is obtained in the running of the school.

Governors make frequent visits to the school to observe the children being taught. Whilst the role is not to assess teaching they do feedback to the full governing body any observations to support the ongoing improvement of the school, and also to ensure that visibility is maintained with the children. Further to this, some governors have a lead role in a particular area.

All governors are volunteers and can be contacted via the school office if needed.  The Governors term of office is four years.
