Science
At Newborough CofE Primary School, we want children to be curious about the world around them: asking questions, exploring ideas and developing the knowledge they need to understand the living, physical and material world. Our science curriculum encourages pupils to think, talk and work like scientists, making connections between what they learn in the classroom and the science they encounter in everyday life.
Alongside developing secure scientific knowledge, children learn how to investigate, observe, question, predict, gather evidence and draw conclusions. We place a strong emphasis on accurate scientific vocabulary and meaningful, practical experiences that bring learning to life. White Rose Science resources are used alongside a range of other high-quality resources to support our teaching, with a particular focus on vocabulary, scientific enquiry and relevant, real-world contexts.
